& Ann on the bow, looking for coral heads in about 8 feet of
water as we motor into the lagoon.
Sweet
Aurora, the French hostess greeted and dined with us at the Club
Med one evening. Pudge got embarrassed when she posed with him for
a picture. He say’s its’ just sunburn!

Otemanu’s spires in the background. This island and volcano is reported
to have served as a model for a young Navy officer named James Michener.
He called it “Bali Hai”, his enchanted island.
The
Passage to Rarotonga, Southern Cook Islands
We
encountered somewhat rougher seas and higher winds on the passage
from Bora Bora to Rarotonga in the Cook Islands. We were very glad
to have Pudge aboard to help with watches and handle the sails.
Although we are still in the tropics, the weather grew slightly
cooler with nighttime temperatures dropping down to 70 degrees and
water temperature dropped to 76 degrees.
